There is no doubt that a good teacher can transform lives. They play a crucial role in the development of students as well as the advancement of society at large. In addition to teachers being guides for the next generation of scientists, politicians, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and leaders, they are also a source of inspiration. On September 5th, the CollPoll team is honored to pay tribute to every teacher for extraordinary contributions toward the betterment of humanity.
Significance of the Teachers’ Day!
Much of the importance of Teachers’ Day lies in its history. Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was a professor, philosopher and bureaucrat, evoked great respect from his students because of his inspiring personality. During Radhakrishnan’s time as President of India, his students and friends requested that he allow them to celebrate his birthday. However, he asked them to mark the day as not his birthday, but as Teachers’ Day.
Teachers impart knowledge that establishes in us the right understanding and goals of life. In times of hardship, they give us tremendous strength. Our academic, social, and spiritual advancement is greatly enhanced by teachers or gurus.
History is replete with examples of disciples reaching the heights of success due to their exceptional respect, humility, dedication and devotion to their teacher. Chanakya, Chandragupta, Dronacharya, Arjun, Shivaji Maharaj, and Ramdas Swami are some of the iconic examples of an ideal Guru-shishya relationship. The shishya of these examples are not only remembered because of their achievements, but also because of the virtuous bond they shared with their teacher.
The Efforts of Teachers Through Pandemic: True Warriors
When the pandemic forced institutions around the country to move to remote instruction, teachers had to learn a lot about online teaching and learning mechanism. The prolonged closure of educational institutions not only impacted the students but also introduced new challenges for teachers. Teachers had to adapt to unexpected conditions, teaching in unprecedented ways, using synchronous and asynchronous instruction, while also being challenged to establish connections with students, families, and colleagues.
Nevertheless, teachers shifted to online education efficiently as technology and institutions were transformed digitally. As a result, they adapted to the new way of doing things and provided education without any barriers.

CollPoll’s Vision to Enhance Teachers’ Experience
CollPoll’s objective is to empower teachers to make informed decisions and enhance their overall campus experience by transforming the institution. This includes conducting online classes, preparing timetables and pre-read materials, sharing assessments like online quizzes, assignments and even exams that are not confined in physical boundaries and are easily accessible.
We focused on providing a seamless, varied and highly enhanced digital experience to teachers in country-wide higher education institutions. More than 6 Lakhs lessons were planned and over 60,000 learning resources were shared by teachers on CollPoll Digital Campus Platform.
